What is GoHighLevel?

GoHighLevel is an all-in-one CRM and marketing platform built for agencies, starting at $97 a month. It bundles roughly seven tools most agencies otherwise buy separately, a CRM, email, SMS, funnels, calendars, reputation and courses, into one login. From $497 a month you can rebrand it and resell it to your own clients as software. The direct alternatives are HubSpot and Keap.

Research-led reviewThe author has not used this product. Built from public sources. What this means

The author has not used this product. Everything here comes from six public sources: the maker's own site, its pricing and refund terms, its changelog, its support forum, counted complaints across recent public reviews, and a like-for-like comparison against the nearest alternatives. We never claim experience we do not have.

Which badge a page carries is enforced in the site build, not just in editing. A page cannot use first-hand language unless it has declared itself a real-use review, so the badge and the writing cannot drift apart. The full method

We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you.How this works

You pay exactly what you would pay going direct. The maker pays us a share of their margin, not a surcharge on you.

We are never paid for a positive verdict, no maker sees a review before it publishes, and we publish verdicts recommending against products we could earn from. Commission rates never influence which products we cover or how we rank them. Full disclosure

Independent comparison. We are an affiliate of some platforms named here. We do not speak for HighLevel, and nothing on this page is an official statement by any of them. Figures come from each maker's own published pages on the date shown, and we correct them when they change.

The short version

  • It is a bundle, not a best-in-class tool. The economic case is the total, never any single module.
  • Three plans: $97 with three client accounts, $297 unlimited, $497 to resell it as your own software.
  • The plan price is not the bill. Texts, calls, emails and AI are metered on top from a prepaid wallet.
  • The most repeated criticism is the learning curve, in more than 140 of G2’s 651 reviews.

What it actually is

Strip away the marketing and GoHighLevel is one database of contacts with a lot of things bolted to it. A contact comes in from a form or a funnel, lands in a pipeline, gets chased by an automated sequence over email and text, books itself into a calendar, pays through an invoice, and then gets asked for a review. All of that happens in one place, against one record, which is the actual product.

That matters because the alternative is six tools held together with integrations, and integrations are where agencies lose hours. The pitch is not that any one module beats the specialist. It is that you stop paying the tax of moving data between them.

The company brands it as a business operating system and publishes some very large numbers about its scale. Treat these as the maker’s own figures, not audited ones, because that is exactly what they are.

Scale, as published by HighLevel on its own homepage
ClaimWhat it counts
7.3 billionleads generated through the platform
179 millionappointments booked
$5.2 billionin sales facilitated during 2025

What it replaces

This is the only comparison that makes sense. Nobody switches to GoHighLevel because its email builder is the best email builder. They switch because seven line items on the company card become one. Below is what those line items usually are, with typical market rates for each, so you can total your own stack rather than ours.

The stack a single subscription is standing in for
ToolTypical standalone costHow GoHighLevel handles it
CRM and pipelines$25 to $99 per user / monthThe core of the platform, and the module people rate highest.
Email marketing$30 to $150 / monthSending is metered separately at $0.675 per 1,000 emails.
SMS and calling$25 to $100 / monthMetered from the wallet. Never included in the plan price.
Funnel and website builder$97 to $297 / monthCapable, and the module most often described as dated.
Booking and calendars$12 to $30 per user / monthRound robin and team calendars are included at every tier.
Reputation and review requests$50 to $200 / monthAutomated review requests and AI replies.
Courses and memberships$40 to $200 / monthUnlimited courses on every tier, which surprises people.

Add your own row prices up before you read another word about features. If the total sits under about $150 a month, the bundle is unlikely to pay for itself and a specialist tool will serve you better. If it is north of $400, the arithmetic starts doing the arguing for you. We work through that calculation properly on is GoHighLevel worth it.

Every module on the pricing page, and which ones cost extra, is listed on the GoHighLevel features page, with a guide to each, from the website builder to Conversation AI.

How the money works

Two metersA flat monthly plan, plus a prepaid wallet that usage draws down. Almost every surprise bill comes from forgetting the second one.gohighlevel.com/pricing, checked 2 September 2026

The plan price buys the platform and a number of client sub-accounts. It does not buy the messages. Texts, phone calls, email sends, email validation and every AI feature bill separately against a wallet you top up, at rates like $0.675 per thousand emails. A quiet account adds a few dollars a month. A busy one running SMS campaigns and an AI receptionist can add more than the plan itself.

Three plans, and the jumps between them buy quite specific things rather than more of the same. The full ladder, including annual pricing and the add-ons that are not in the table, is on the GoHighLevel pricing breakdown.

The three plans, and what each jump actually buys
PlanMonthlyWhat the step up buys
Starter$97The whole platform, capped at three client sub-accounts.
Unlimited$297Unlimited sub-accounts, and your brand on the interface.
Agency Pro$497The right to sell it as your own software and mark usage up.
The platform itself is identical on all three. You are buying capacity and permissions, never features. An agency on $97 gets the same workflow builder as one on $497.

The white label part

This is the piece that makes GoHighLevel different from HubSpot, and the reason its audience is so heavily agencies. From $297 your clients see your domain, your logo and your colours instead of HighLevel’s. From $497 you go further and sell it to them as a software subscription, at prices you set, billed through your own Stripe, with a margin you keep on their usage.

That turns an agency from a services business into a software business with recurring revenue, which is the entire pitch and the reason people tolerate the learning curve. It is also the part most explainers skate over. We cover it properly on SaaS mode and white labelling, including the branded mobile app that costs $497 a month on top.

What owners say

Two public review platforms tell two different stories about this product, and the gap between them is worth more than either score on its own.

The same product on two review platforms, checked 2 September 2026
SourceScoreReviewsShape of the ratings
G24.6 / 5651Spread across the range, with detailed criticism in the middle bands.
Trustpilot4.9 / 514,87797% five star, 2% one star, under 1% anywhere else.
99%of Trustpilot ratings are either five stars or one star. Fewer than one in a hundred land on two, three or four.trustpilot.com/review/www.gohighlevel.com, checked 2 September 2026

A rating distribution that empty in the middle usually means two different populations reviewing two different experiences, not one product that is either perfect or broken. The people for whom it clicked are delighted. The people who could not get it working are furious. Very few land in between, and that shape is itself the most honest thing either platform tells you: this is a product you will either commit to properly or bounce off.

G2’s smaller, wordier sample is more useful for working out which of those two you would be. We counted the complaints that repeat in it on the full GoHighLevel review.

What works

  • One login and one contact record instead of six tools and a pile of integrations.
  • Unlimited contacts, users and workflows on every plan, including the $97 one.
  • Resell it under your own brand for genuine recurring software revenue.
  • Actively built. The changelog ships new features constantly rather than quietly stalling.

What does not

  • A real learning curve. Weeks, not days, and the most repeated complaint by a wide margin.
  • Usage bills separately, so the advertised price is a floor rather than a bill.
  • No single module is best in class. Reporting is the weakest.
  • Support quality is inconsistent, and tickets going quiet is a recurring theme.

Who it is not for

A solo operator who needs one channel done well should not buy this. You would pay for a dozen modules, use two, and spend three weeks learning an interface built for somebody managing thirty client accounts. A dedicated email tool or funnel builder will be cheaper, faster to set up and better at the one job.

It also suits nobody in a hurry. If you need something live next week, the learning curve alone rules it out. And if your reporting requirements are specific, check that module before anything else, because it is the one that most often fails the test.

If you are running your own business rather than client accounts, the honest answer is usually a funnel builder rather than an agency platform. Those start free and cover most of the same ground for one company, and we compare them on best sales funnel builder.

Two things worth reading before you commit: what it connects to natively, which is a shorter list than the marketing implies, and how to actually learn it, because breadth rather than difficulty is what makes people give up.

Running a trade rather than an agency? The same platform answers a narrower question there, covered on software for trades, where job management and lead follow-up are treated as the separate purchases they are.

Common questions

What is GoHighLevel used for?

Running the whole client-acquisition process in one place: capturing leads through funnels and forms, chasing them by email and SMS automation, booking appointments, taking payment, and requesting reviews. Agencies use it to run many client accounts from one login.

How much does GoHighLevel cost?

Plans are $97, $297 and $497 a month, with roughly two months free if you pay annually. Usage such as SMS, calls, email sends and AI features is metered separately from a prepaid wallet, so the plan price is a floor rather than a total.

Is GoHighLevel a CRM?

Yes, and the CRM is the core of it. Contacts, pipelines, custom fields and custom objects sit at the centre, and every other module writes to the same record. It is a CRM with a marketing platform attached rather than the other way round.

Who owns GoHighLevel?

HighLevel Inc, a privately held US software company. GoHighLevel is the product name and HighLevel is the company name, which is why you see both used interchangeably across their own site and documentation.

Is GoHighLevel only for agencies?

No, but it is built for them, and that shows everywhere. Single businesses do use it and the $97 plan works fine for one company. The white labelling, sub-accounts and SaaS reselling that justify the price are agency features.

Can I try GoHighLevel before paying?

Yes. The standard trial is 14 days and a 30 day trial is available through the HighLevel Bootcamp offer. Both need a card up front and both convert to a paid plan automatically, so set a reminder the day you sign up.

What does GoHighLevel not do well?

Reporting is the weakest module and struggles with anything custom. The funnel builder is capable but frequently described as dated. And onboarding is genuinely hard, which is the single most repeated complaint in public reviews.
