Features
The GoHighLevel website builder
Every GoHighLevel plan includes the website builder, the $97 Starter plan included, with custom domains, automatic SSL, a blog, an online store and AI page building. It is built for a business site that exists to turn visitors into leads. It is not trying to be Webflow, and the reason to use it is what happens after a visitor fills in a form, not the design tools.
Research-led reviewThe author has not used this product. Built from public sources. What this means
The author has not used this product. Everything here comes from six public sources: the maker's own site, its pricing and refund terms, its changelog, its support forum, counted complaints across recent public reviews, and a like-for-like comparison against the nearest alternatives. We never claim experience we do not have.
Which badge a page carries is enforced in the site build, not just in editing. A page cannot use first-hand language unless it has declared itself a real-use review, so the badge and the writing cannot drift apart. The full method
We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you.How this works
You pay exactly what you would pay going direct. The maker pays us a share of their margin, not a surcharge on you.
We are never paid for a positive verdict, no maker sees a review before it publishes, and we publish verdicts recommending against products we could earn from. Commission rates never influence which products we cover or how we rank them. Full disclosure
Independent comparison. We are an affiliate of some platforms named here. We do not speak for HighLevel, Webflow or ClickFunnels, and nothing on this page is an official statement by any of them. Figures come from each maker's own published pages on the date shown, and we correct them when they change.
The short version
- No extra charge for the builder itself on any plan. Sites publish to your domain with SSL added for you.
- AI page building is listed with no AI usage charge in HighLevel’s current pricing, capped at 1,000 prompts a day.
- Split testing is for funnels only. A website page cannot be split tested.
- WordPress is possible, but it is a separate hosting add-on from $10 a month per site.

What you get
| Detail | |
|---|---|
| Included on | Every plan. "Website and funnel builder" is in the core feature list |
| Start from | A blank page or a template |
| AI page building | Funnel and Website AI builds and edits pages from a prompt. HighLevel’s current AI pricing lists no charge, capped at 1,000 prompts a day per sub-account |
| Custom domain | Root domain or subdomain, by Domain Connect or manual DNS |
| SSL | Provisioned automatically once the domain connects |
| Mobile editing | Separate desktop and mobile views in the editor |
| Custom code | Supported for tracking and styling |
| SEO settings | Page title, meta description, 301 redirects, and a sitemap you choose pages for |
| Speed settings | Lazy loading, image and JavaScript optimisation toggles, and a global CDN |
| Blog | Categories, authors, canonical URLs, scheduling, import by URL or CSV |
| Online store | Built inside a website, with product, cart and checkout pages generated for you |
Read that table as a list of things you would otherwise pay for separately. Hosting, an SSL certificate, a blog platform, a store and an AI writing tool are all in it, and all on the plan you are probably buying for the CRM anyway.
The part that matters most is not in the table. Any form on a HighLevel site creates a contact the moment it is submitted, and a workflow can text that person back within seconds. On a plain website builder, the same form usually sends an email and waits for somebody to notice it.
Websites or funnels
HighLevel keeps two builders side by side, and they share an editor. A website is several pages that visitors wander between. A funnel is a sequence of steps built to get one action, such as a booking or a sale. The difference decides which features you get: split testing, order forms and one-click upsells live on the funnel builder, while the online store is built inside a website.
Most local businesses end up with both. A small website for people who search the business by name, and one or two funnels behind the adverts, where every visitor has arrived for a single reason.
SEO and speed
The SEO settings cover what a local business site needs: a title and meta description on every page, 301 redirects, a sitemap you choose pages for, and a blog with authors, categories, canonical URLs and scheduled publishing. It covers the on-page basics a local service site needs. It is less than WordPress gives a site built mainly on content, where plugins handle schema, internal linking and category archives.
For speed, HighLevel lists automatic lazy loading for images, optimisation toggles for images and JavaScript, caching and a global CDN. Check the optimisation toggles are on before launch. HighLevel's guide recommends enabling them.

The limits
| If you want | The position |
|---|---|
| A split test on a website page | Not available. HighLevel lists split testing on funnel pages only |
| A form or custom code inside a blog post | Not supported in blog posts, per the help centre |
| Category pages for the blog | Not available yet, per the same article |
| WordPress instead | A separate hosting add-on, from $10 a month per site |
| A published page or site cap | HighLevel does not publish one either way, so we cannot tell you there is none |
The last row deserves the honesty. You will see "unlimited websites" repeated on other sites. HighLevel's pricing page does not publish a page or site cap either way, so we are not repeating a claim we cannot point to. Nothing in the documentation suggests a limit a small business would reach.
If you want WordPress
| Tier | Monthly | Sites and storage |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $10 | 1 site, 12 GB |
| Utility | $220 | 25 sites, 60 GB pooled |
| Unlimited | $497 | Unlimited sites, 500 GB pooled |
You do not need to move an existing WordPress site to use HighLevel at all. Forms and the chat widget embed on any site, which is covered on the forms page. Hosting WordPress inside HighLevel only makes sense for an agency that wants client sites and client billing in one place.
What it costs against the rest
| Tool | Entry price | What that buys |
|---|---|---|
| GoHighLevel Starter | $97 a month | Website builder is one module in a CRM, email, SMS and booking platform |
| Webflow Basic site plan | $15 a month, billed yearly | One site, 300 static pages, no CRM |
| ClickFunnels Launch | $97 a month | Unlimited funnels as a limited time offer, 10,000 contacts, 5 custom domains |
If a website is all you need, GoHighLevel is the wrong purchase and a $15 Webflow plan is the honest answer. The case for it is replacing several tools at once, and the full pricing breakdown shows what the plan costs once usage is added. For the wider verdict on the platform, read the GoHighLevel review, and if you are weighing it against other all-in-one tools, the alternatives page covers them.
The website builder is on every plan, including $97
The trial gives you the full builder, templates and AI page building on your own domain. Build the homepage and one funnel, connect a form to a workflow, and you will know within a week whether the rest of the platform earns its price.

Common questions
Does GoHighLevel have a website builder?
Yes. "Website and funnel builder" is in the core feature list on HighLevel’s pricing page, which applies to all three plans, so the $97 Starter plan includes it. You can start from a blank page or a template and publish to your own domain with SSL added automatically.
Is hosting included with GoHighLevel websites?
HighLevel does not list a hosting charge for sites built in its own builder. They publish to your connected domain, with SSL provisioned automatically and a global CDN. WordPress sites are different and use a paid hosting add-on from $10 a month per site.
Can I use my own domain on a GoHighLevel website?
Yes, either a root domain or a subdomain, connected through Domain Connect or by adding DNS records yourself. SSL is issued automatically once the domain connects.
Is the GoHighLevel website builder good for SEO?
It covers the basics: page titles, meta descriptions, 301 redirects, a sitemap you choose pages for, and a blog with canonical URLs and scheduling. There are also lazy loading and script optimisation settings for speed. It is enough for a local business site, and thinner than WordPress for a content-heavy site.
Can GoHighLevel build a website with AI?
Yes. Funnel and Website AI builds and edits pages from a prompt. HighLevel’s AI pricing article, updated 28 September 2026, lists it with no AI usage charge, capped at 1,000 prompts a day per sub-account. An older HighLevel article still mentions $0.99 after five free generations.
What is the difference between a GoHighLevel website and a funnel?
A website is several pages people move between freely. A funnel is ordered steps meant to lead to one action. Split testing, order forms and one-click upsells belong to funnels, while an online store is built inside a website.
