Jobber review

Jobber scores 4.2 on Trustpilot from 227 reviews and 4.6 on Capterra from 1,478, and the notable thing is that those two numbers agree. Its nearest rival differs by 2.2 points between the same two platforms. The repeated criticisms are reporting depth and gaps for specific trades rather than billing or support, and its lowest Capterra sub-score is features, at 4.3.

Research-led reviewThe author has not used this product. Built from public sources. What this means

The author has not used this product. Everything here comes from six public sources: the maker's own site, its pricing and refund terms, its changelog, its support forum, counted complaints across recent public reviews, and a like-for-like comparison against the nearest alternatives. We never claim experience we do not have.

Which badge a page carries is enforced in the site build, not just in editing. A page cannot use first-hand language unless it has declared itself a real-use review, so the badge and the writing cannot drift apart. The full method

We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you.How this works

You pay exactly what you would pay going direct. The maker pays us a share of their margin, not a surcharge on you.

We are never paid for a positive verdict, no maker sees a review before it publishes, and we publish verdicts recommending against products we could earn from. Commission rates never influence which products we cover or how we rank them. Full disclosure

Independent comparison. We are an affiliate of some platforms named here. We do not speak for Jobber, Housecall Pro or HighLevel, and nothing on this page is an official statement by any of them. Figures come from each maker's own published pages on the date shown, and we correct them when they change.

The short version

  • Rated consistently across two independent platforms, which is rarer in this category than it sounds.
  • The complaints cluster on reporting and trade-specific features, not on billing or getting out.
  • Price range $29 to $699 a month, with an extra seat at $29, the cheapest marginal user here.
  • It runs the work after a customer says yes. It does not chase the ones who did not.

What owners actually say

4.2 and 4.6are Jobber's Trustpilot and Capterra scores, from 227 and 1,478 reviews. Two independent samples landing within half a point is the strongest signal on this page.trustpilot.com and capterra.com, checked 7 September 2026
Jobber's Trustpilot distribution, 227 reviews
RatingShare of reviews
5 star71%
4 star4%
3 star2%
2 star5%
1 star18%

That distribution is honest about itself: 71% five-star and 18% one-star, with very little in between. Software reviews almost always look like this, because people write them when delighted or furious and rarely when mildly content. The useful question is not the average, it is what the 18% are furious about, and whether it is a thing that would happen to you.

Capterra sub-scores, out of 5, Jobber against Housecall Pro
Rated onJobberHousecall Pro
Ease of use4.54.5

Value for money4.44.6
Jobber is rated lower than Housecall Pro on three of those four measures on Capterra and level with it on ease of use, and much higher on Trustpilot. If you take one thing from this page, take that: a single star rating for either product is not a fact about the product, it is a fact about which site you read it on. The gap is examined on our Housecall Pro review.

The counted complaints

What the negative Jobber reviews are about

Trustpilot 1 and 2 star reviews · counted across the visible recent reviews within 227 reviews

  1. Reporting and industry-specific gaps3
  2. Bugs, API errors and duplicate line items2
  3. Price rises and feeling locked in2
  4. Support hard to reach in an outage1

The pattern is worth naming because of what is absent from it. The complaints are about the product not doing enough. The named specifics are below, and every one of them is a feature gap rather than a commercial dispute.

What is largely missing is the category that dominates complaints about the rival on this shortlist, which is billing, unexpected charges and difficulty cancelling. There are complaints here about price rises and feeling locked in, which is a real and fair criticism of annual billing that is charged up front and not refunded. There is not a pattern of people saying they could not stop paying.

The named specifics in Jobber's negative Trustpilot reviews
What reviewers describe
1Reporting options described as extremely limited, with no meaningful customisation
2Industry-specific gaps, including chemical tracking on invoices for pest control work
3API glitches producing duplicate line items, and "Unexpected error" messages blocking normal use
4Long-standing customers reporting price rises and difficulty switching away
5One customer of twelve years reporting difficulty reaching support during a system failure

What works

  • Two independent review samples agree, which is unusual in this category
  • Full price list published, twelve plan and seat combinations across three billing terms
  • Extra seats at $29 a month, by far the cheapest marginal user in this silo
  • 14 day trial with full Grow features and no credit card required
  • Onboarding sessions included on every plan, white glove on Plus

What does not

  • Reporting depth is the single most repeated criticism
  • Trade-specific fields are thin, with chemical tracking on pest control invoices a named gap
  • Annual billing is charged for the full term up front and is not refunded mid-year
  • The keyed-in and card-on-file processing rate is not published anywhere
  • Two Jobber pages give different prices for the same add-ons

Jobber labels its client management feature with "CRM" in brackets, and whether that is the same thing you mean by CRM is the most consequential misunderstanding in this category. It tracks people who are already your clients. It does not capture leads who are not. That distinction is worth ten minutes on is Jobber a CRM before you buy anything.

Verdict

The verdict

Jobber is the most straightforward product in this silo to recommend, and the reason is not that it is the best at any one thing. It is that its published prices, its independent ratings and its complaint pattern all say roughly the same thing, and for a purchase you cannot easily reverse that consistency is worth more than a feature. We earn nothing from Jobber, which is why this page is allowed to say that plainly.

Growing crew, hiring this year
Strong yes. $29 a seat is the best marginal price in this category
You live in reports and want custom ones
Test that specifically in the 14 days. It is the most repeated complaint
Specialist trade with unusual invoice fields
Check your fields exist during the trial. Chemical tracking on pest control invoices is a named gap
You want to try before paying
Yes. 14 days, full Grow features, no card
Diary has gaps rather than chaos
Wrong product. That is lead follow-up, not job management
The trap
Paying a year up front for the discount, then finding the reporting does not fit your trade

For the enquiries Jobber never sees

Jobber starts working when someone becomes a client. If your problem is the calls you could not answer and the quotes nobody chased, that happens earlier and needs a different tool. Unlimited users on every plan, so it does not fight your crew size the way per-seat software does.

Common questions

Is Jobber any good?

By the two independent samples available it rates well and consistently: 4.2 on Trustpilot from 227 reviews and 4.6 on Capterra from 1,478. The repeated criticisms are reporting depth and missing fields for specialist trades rather than billing or support problems, which is a better complaint pattern than its closest rival has.

What do people complain about with Jobber?

Across the visible negative Trustpilot reviews the themes are limited reporting and trade-specific gaps such as chemical tracking on pest control invoices, API glitches producing duplicate line items, price rises with a sense of being locked in, and support being hard to reach during a system failure. Reporting is the most repeated.

Is Jobber worth the money?

Its lowest Capterra sub-score is features at 4.3, with value for money just above it at 4.4. For a growing crew it is straightforwardly good value because extra seats are $29 a month against $100 on Housecall Pro Essentials. For a sole trader at $29 a month annually it is the cheapest serious tool in the category.

Is Jobber legit?

Yes. It is an established field service platform with over 1,700 reviews across the two major independent platforms, published pricing, a 14 day trial with no credit card, and onboarding included on every plan. The criticisms of it are about feature depth and annual billing terms, not about legitimacy.

What are Jobber’s weaknesses?

Reporting that cannot be customised much, thin fields for specialist trades, annual billing charged up front with no refund if you cancel mid-year, and two pricing details it does not publish at all: the keyed-in card processing rate, and a consistent add-on price, since two of its own pages disagree.

Does Jobber replace a CRM?

It depends which meaning of CRM you have. Jobber labels its client manager with CRM in brackets and it does track clients, jobs, history and communication well. It sends automatic quote follow-ups, and its paid AI Receptionist add-on answers calls and texts back callers who hang up. Long nurture sequences to people who never booked are marketing platform jobs.
