Features
Calendars and booking in GoHighLevel
Every GoHighLevel plan includes booking calendars: simple, round robin, collective, class, service and event types, with Google two-way sync, deposits taken at booking, and reminders by text, email and WhatsApp. Calendly covers most of the same booking features, with team calendars on its $16 Teams plan. The difference is that a GoHighLevel booking lands in the CRM and can start the follow-up on its own.
Research-led reviewThe author has not used this product. Built from public sources. What this means
The author has not used this product. Everything here comes from six public sources: the maker's own site, its pricing and refund terms, its changelog, its support forum, counted complaints across recent public reviews, and a like-for-like comparison against the nearest alternatives. We never claim experience we do not have.
Which badge a page carries is enforced in the site build, not just in editing. A page cannot use first-hand language unless it has declared itself a real-use review, so the badge and the writing cannot drift apart. The full method

You pay exactly what you would pay going direct. The maker pays us a share of their margin, not a surcharge on you.
We are never paid for a positive verdict, no maker sees a review before it publishes, and we publish verdicts recommending against products we could earn from. Commission rates never influence which products we cover or how we rank them. Full disclosure
Independent comparison. We are an affiliate of some platforms named here. We do not speak for HighLevel, Calendly or Acuity, and nothing on this page is an official statement by any of them. Figures come from each maker's own published pages on the date shown, and we correct them when they change.
The short version
- Seven calendar types cover one person, a team, a class and a service menu.
- Two-way Google sync, plus Outlook and iCloud, so existing diaries keep working.
- Deposits can be taken at booking through six payment providers.
- Text reminders are the real value, and they bill per message from the wallet.

The calendar types
| Type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Simple | One person, one kind of appointment |
| Personal booking | The newer one-person calendar |
| Round robin | Shares bookings across a team, so nobody is overloaded |
| Collective | Needs several people free at the same time |
| Class booking | One slot, many attendees |
| Service | Service menus, the salon and clinic shape |
| Event | No host assigned, for workshops and conferences |
Most businesses need one of two. A single practitioner uses a simple or personal calendar. A business with several staff taking the same kind of appointment uses round robin, which spreads bookings so nobody is buried while a colleague sits idle. Class booking is the one gyms and trainers look for, with one time slot and many attendees.
What you get
| Detail | |
|---|---|
| Included on | Every plan. "Booking calendars" is in the core feature list |
| Syncs with | Google (two-way), Outlook, iCloud, plus Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Reserve with Google |
| Take payment at booking | Yes. Stripe, PayPal, Square, Authorize.net, NMI and Razorpay, with coupons |
| Reminders | Email, SMS, WhatsApp and in-app, with several reminder timings per booking |
| Reschedule and cancel links | Each can be switched on, with an expiry you set |
| Availability rules | Working hours, buffers, minimum notice, date range, maximum bookings per day |
The booking widget can be shared as a link, a one-time link or embedded on any website, including one not built in HighLevel. The Conversation AI chatbot can also book into these calendars from a text or web chat, which is where after-hours enquiries stop being lost.
Taking deposits
A deposit at booking is a common way to cut no-shows, and HighLevel supports it through Stripe, PayPal, Square, Authorize.net, NMI and Razorpay, with coupon codes. Two caveats from HighLevel's own documentation: Razorpay, NMI and Square do not work on the classic widget or the service menu, and partial payments do not work on recurring calendars.

Cutting no-shows
Reminders go out by email, SMS, WhatsApp and in-app notification, and each appointment can have several reminder timings, such as a day before and an hour before. A text tends to be seen sooner than an email, which is why SMS reminders are the feature service businesses usually ask about. Each text bills from the wallet at the rates on the phone system page.
Reschedule and cancel links can be switched on with an expiry, so a client can move an appointment themselves up to a cut-off you choose. A workflow can then react to the change, for example by offering the freed slot to a waiting list.
Against Calendly
| Tool | Price | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Calendly Free | $0 | One event type and a booking page |
| Calendly Standard | $10 a seat a month billed yearly, $12 monthly | Scheduling only. Team calendars need Teams at $16 a seat |
| Acuity Starter | $16 a month billed yearly, $20 monthly | Scheduling only |
| GoHighLevel Starter | $97 a month | Calendars are one module. The booking lands in the CRM and can start a workflow |
The comparison flips once you add what a booking needs around it: text reminders, a record of the client, a follow-up after the visit and a review request. Those are separate tools in a Calendly setup and one account here. The full cost of the platform is on the pricing page, the verdict is in the GoHighLevel review, and other all-in-one platforms are on the alternatives page.

Common questions
Does GoHighLevel have a booking calendar?
Yes. "Booking calendars" is in the core feature list on HighLevel’s pricing page, so every plan includes it, the $97 Starter plan too. Calendar types include simple, round robin, collective, class booking, service and event calendars.
Does GoHighLevel sync with Google Calendar?
Yes, with two-way sync, and you can check several Google calendars for conflicts. Outlook and iCloud connect too, and Zoom and Microsoft Teams can add meeting links to bookings.
Can GoHighLevel take payment when someone books?
Yes. HighLevel lists Stripe, PayPal, Square, Authorize.net, NMI and Razorpay for calendar payments, with coupons supported. Some of those providers do not work on the classic booking widget, and partial payments do not work with recurring calendars.
What is a round robin calendar in GoHighLevel?
A calendar that shares bookings across a team, so appointments are spread between staff rather than all landing on one person. It is the usual choice for sales teams and multi-person service businesses.
Does GoHighLevel send appointment reminders?
Yes, by email, SMS, WhatsApp and in-app notification, with several reminder timings per appointment. Text reminders bill from the account wallet at HighLevel’s SMS rates.
Is GoHighLevel a Calendly replacement?
For a business that also needs a CRM, SMS reminders and follow-up, yes, and it can even sync with Calendly during a move. For someone who only needs a booking link, Calendly’s free plan, or Standard at $10 to $12 a seat a month, is far cheaper than a $97 platform.
