Pricing
Housecall Pro pricing
Three plans, $59, $149 and $299 a month billed annually, or $79, $189 and $329 monthly. Two numbers decide what you actually pay and neither is the plan price. A sixth user on Essentials costs $100 a month, two thirds of the plan again. And the advertised "as low as 2.59%" card rate applies only to a card tapped on a reader, with invoiced cards at 2.99% and keyed-in cards at 3.49%.
Research-led reviewThe author has not used this product. Built from public sources. What this means
The author has not used this product. Everything here comes from six public sources: the maker's own site, its pricing and refund terms, its changelog, its support forum, counted complaints across recent public reviews, and a like-for-like comparison against the nearest alternatives. We never claim experience we do not have.
Which badge a page carries is enforced in the site build, not just in editing. A page cannot use first-hand language unless it has declared itself a real-use review, so the badge and the writing cannot drift apart. The full method
We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you.How this works
You pay exactly what you would pay going direct. The maker pays us a share of their margin, not a surcharge on you.
We are never paid for a positive verdict, no maker sees a review before it publishes, and we publish verdicts recommending against products we could earn from. Commission rates never influence which products we cover or how we rank them. Full disclosure
Independent comparison. We are an affiliate of some platforms named here. We do not speak for Housecall Pro, Jobber or HighLevel, and nothing on this page is an official statement by any of them. Figures come from each maker's own published pages on the date shown, and we correct them when they change.
The short version
- The published range is $59 to $329 a month depending on plan and billing term.
- A sixth user on Essentials is $100 a month. On Max the marginal user is $75.
- Four card categories at three rates, 2.59% to 3.49%, depending on how the card reaches you.
- Their terms publish a non-refundable $25 fee for every chargeback, win or lose.
The three plans
| Plan | Monthly | Annual, per month | Included | Each extra user |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $79 | $59 | 1 user included | Not offered on this plan |
| Essentials | $189 | $149 | 5 users included | $100 a month each |
| Max | $329 | $299 | 8 users included | $75 a month each |
Compared with the rest of this category, that is a short and readable price list, and Housecall Pro deserves credit for it. Two of its largest rivals, ServiceTitan and FieldPulse, publish plan names and a Request Pricing button and nothing else. You can work out a Housecall Pro bill without speaking to anyone, which is the first test any software should pass.
The annual saving is $20, $40 and $30 a month on the three plans respectively. In percentage terms the discount shrinks as the plan grows: 25% on Basic, 21% on Essentials and 9% on Max, so the plan most likely to suit a growing crew is the one where committing to a year buys you least.
The sixth user
Essentials includes five users at $149 a month annually. The sixth costs $100, which takes you to $249. The seventh takes you to $349, at which point Max at $299 with eight users included is cheaper, so in practice Essentials tops out at six users before the maths pushes you up.
On Max the marginal user is $75, which is better, and eight are included. A ten-person operation is $299 plus $150, so $449 a month billed annually.
For contrast, an extra Jobber user is $29 a month. That comparison, and where each one wins, is on Jobber vs Housecall Pro.
The 2.59% is a floor
Housecall Pro's pricing page says card processing is "as low as 2.59%". That is accurate and it is a floor rather than a rate. Their help centre publishes four card categories at three different rates, and which one you pay depends entirely on how the card reaches you. The lowest applies to card present only, using a reader or tap to pay. If that rate is the reason you are here, the rivals and what they publish are on Housecall Pro alternatives.
| How the card is taken | Rate | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Card reader or Tap to Pay | 2.59% | Help centre. Tap to Pay adds $5 per active device per month |
| Customer enters card on a digital invoice | 2.99% | Help centre |
| Keyed in, scanned or card on file | 3.49% | Help centre |
| American Express and commercial cards | 3.49% | Help centre, regardless of how the card is taken |
| Bank payment (ACH) | 1% | Help centre |
| Instapay instant payout | +1% on top | Help centre |
Two details that are easy to miss. American Express and commercial cards are 3.49% regardless of how they are taken, so a business with commercial clients pays the top rate on that revenue whatever it does. And Tap to Pay on mobile, which is how you reach the 2.59%, carries an extra $5 per active device per month, so a five-van crew adds $25 a month to get the cheapest rate.
Bank payments are 1%, and that is the number worth acting on. Moving a $40,000 month from keyed-in cards to bank transfer takes the fee from $1,396 to $400.

What it really costs
The verdict
Housecall Pro publishes enough for you to work out your real bill, which is more than most of this category does, but the real bill is rarely the plan price. For a typical crew it is the plan, plus a seat or two, plus a processing rate that is one to two points above the advertised floor. Do that arithmetic during the 14 day trial, while you still have no card on file.
- Sole trader
- $59 a month annually on Basic, one user, no extra seats offered on that plan
- Crew of five
- $149 a month annually on Essentials, identical to Jobber at the same headcount
- Crew of six or seven
- Compare Essentials plus seats against Max. Max wins from seven users
- Crews tap cards on site
- 2.59% is the cheapest processing of any tool in this silo
- Office keys in cards or bills Amex
- 3.49%, the dearest here. Price that before the subscription
- The trap
- Budgeting on $59 and 2.59% when you are a five-van crew invoicing by email

Common questions
How much does Housecall Pro cost?
Basic is $79 a month or $59 billed annually with one user. Essentials is $189 or $149 annually with five users. Max is $329 or $299 annually with eight users. Extra users cost $100 a month on Essentials and $75 on Max.
How much does Housecall Pro charge per user?
A user beyond the five included on Essentials is $100 a month, which is two thirds of the annual plan price again for one person. On Max, which includes eight, each extra user is $75. Basic is a single-user plan and does not offer extra seats.
What is Housecall Pro’s card processing rate?
Their help centre publishes four categories at three rates: 2.59% for a card tapped on a reader or Tap to Pay, 2.99% when a customer enters a card on a digital invoice, and 3.49% for keyed-in, scanned or card-on-file payments and for all American Express and commercial cards. Bank payments are 1% and instant payouts add 1%.
Does Housecall Pro have a free trial?
Yes, 14 days with no credit card required and Max plan features available during the trial. Their terms also state in capitals that subscriptions renew automatically once you are paying, so set a reminder before any renewal you are unsure about.
Does Housecall Pro give refunds?
Their terms state that subscription fees are not prorated or refunded except as their agreement sets out, and that on termination you receive no refund unless explicitly stated otherwise. They also publish a non-refundable $25 fee for each chargeback regardless of the outcome of the dispute.
Is Housecall Pro cheaper than Jobber?
At one user, no: $59 against $29. At five users they are identical at $149 a month billed annually. Above five, Jobber is substantially cheaper because an extra seat is $29 against $100. Card processing can reverse that if your crews tap cards on site, where Housecall Pro’s 2.59% beats anything Jobber publishes.
