Alternatives
Housecall Pro alternatives
Jobber is the only direct like-for-like that publishes a full price list, running $29 to $699 a month with extra seats at $29 against Housecall Pro's $100.ServiceTitan and FieldPulse, the two rivals most often listed alongside them, publish plan names and a Request Pricing button and no dollar figures at all. Which alternative suits you depends entirely on why you are leaving.
Research-led reviewThe author has not used this product. Built from public sources. What this means
The author has not used this product. Everything here comes from six public sources: the maker's own site, its pricing and refund terms, its changelog, its support forum, counted complaints across recent public reviews, and a like-for-like comparison against the nearest alternatives. We never claim experience we do not have.
Which badge a page carries is enforced in the site build, not just in editing. A page cannot use first-hand language unless it has declared itself a real-use review, so the badge and the writing cannot drift apart. The full method
We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you.How this works
You pay exactly what you would pay going direct. The maker pays us a share of their margin, not a surcharge on you.
We are never paid for a positive verdict, no maker sees a review before it publishes, and we publish verdicts recommending against products we could earn from. Commission rates never influence which products we cover or how we rank them. Full disclosure
Independent comparison. We are an affiliate of some platforms named here. We do not speak for Housecall Pro, Jobber, ServiceTitan, FieldPulse, Roofr or HighLevel, and nothing on this page is an official statement by any of them. Figures come from each maker's own published pages on the date shown, and we correct them when they change.
The short version
- Half the alternatives on any list of these cannot be compared on price, because they publish none.
- If you are leaving over seat costs, Jobber is the answer and it is not close.
- If you are leaving over billing and cancellation, check the replacement’s terms before switching, not after.
- If you are leaving because the diary has gaps, no job management tool on this page will fix that.
Why people look
Worth starting here, because the right alternative is different for each reason and most lists of alternatives skip the question entirely. From what Housecall Pro's own negative reviews are about, and from what its published pricing does, there are five common reasons and they lead in different directions.
| If you are leaving because | Look at |
|---|---|
| A sixth user costs $100 a month | Jobber. Extra seats are $29, and that is the largest single number in this comparison |
| Card fees are higher than the 2.59% you expected | Check how you take cards first. Invoiced is 2.99% and keyed-in is 3.49%, and Jobber is a flat 2.9% plus 30c |
| Billing, auto-renewal or a cancellation went badly | Read the replacement’s refund terms before switching. Jobber’s annual plan is also non-refundable mid-year |
| You have outgrown it and want enterprise features | ServiceTitan, and accept a sales process, because no price is published |
| The diary has gaps rather than chaos | None of them. That is lead follow-up, a different category |
The realistic options
| Tool | Published price | Trial | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jobber | $29 to $699 a month | 14 days, no card | The direct like-for-like. Same job, published prices, more seat granularity |
| ServiceTitan | Not published | None offered, a demo request instead | Aimed higher up the market. Expect a sales process |
| FieldPulse | Not published | Not stated on the pricing page | Seat-based and quoted per business |
| Roofr | Free to $349 a month | A permanently free tier rather than a trial | Roofing only. Measurement and proposals |
| GoHighLevel | From $97 a month plus usage | 30 days on the Bootcamp offer, card required | Not a replacement. Lead capture and follow-up, no dispatch or job costing |
Jobber is the only one on that list doing the same job at the same size with the same information available. It publishes twelve plan and seat combinations across three billing terms, offers 14 days with no card required, and charges $29 for an extra seat. The full comparison, including where Housecall Pro wins, is on Jobber vs Housecall Pro.
ServiceTitan is aimed higher up the market and is a genuinely different purchase. Its pricing page lists three plans, Starter, Essentials and The Works, each with a Request Pricing button, and offers a demo rather than a trial. That is a considered choice rather than a failing, and it does mean you cannot shortlist it without a sales conversation.
FieldPulse is the one that turns up in comparison articles most often relative to how much anyone can tell you about it. Its pricing page states that pricing is seat-based and built around what your team needs, with full-access and field-only seat types, and asks you to request pricing or call.
Who will even tell you the price
| Tool | Price published? | What you can see |
|---|---|---|
| Jobber | Yes | Twelve plan and seat combinations across three billing terms |
| Housecall Pro | Yes | Three plans, monthly and annual, with per-seat costs |
| Roofr | Yes | Four plans including a permanently free tier |
| GoHighLevel | Yes | Three plans, calls and texts metered separately |
| JobNimbus | Partly | Plan names and seat bands, no dollar figures anywhere |
| ServiceTitan | No | Three plan names, Starter, Essentials and The Works, each with a Request Pricing button |
| FieldPulse | No | Three plan names and a Request Pricing button. States pricing is seat-based and built around your team |
| AccuLynx | No | No prices, no plan names, no tiers |
Before you switch
| Tool | Trustpilot | Capterra | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jobber | 4.2 from 227 reviews | 4.6 from 1,478 reviews | Consistent |
| Housecall Pro | 2.5 from 632 reviews | 4.7 from 2,744 reviews | 2.2 points |
Three practical things before you move anything. Switch at a renewal date, because Housecall Pro's terms state fees are not refunded on termination and Jobber's annual plan is billed up front and is not refunded mid-year, so a mid-term switch means paying twice for the overlap.
Run the replacement in parallel first. Both published options offer 14 days with no credit card, which is enough to import a sample of clients and see whether your crews will actually use the thing.
And price the card processing, not just the subscription. For a business running $40,000 a month through the software, the spread between the cheapest and dearest published processing method across these two platforms is about $4,320 a year, which is larger than the subscription difference at almost any crew size.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual, per month | Included | Each extra user |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $79 | $59 | 1 user included | Not offered on this plan |
| Essentials | $189 | $149 | 5 users included | $100 a month each |
| Max | $329 | $299 | 8 users included | $75 a month each |
Which one
The verdict
For most Housecall Pro users the honest alternative is Jobber, and for a large minority the honest answer is that switching will not help because the problem is upstream of the software. We earn nothing from Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, FieldPulse or Roofr, which is why this page is able to say that the best outcome for many readers is to keep paying Housecall Pro and buy something else entirely.
- Crew growing, seat costs are the problem
- Jobber. $29 a seat against $100 settles it
- Roofing specifically
- Roofr, which has a permanently free tier. See our roofing CRM comparison
- Bigger operation, happy to take a sales call
- ServiceTitan, and budget the time for it
- You want to compare on price before talking to anyone
- Jobber is the only true like-for-like that lets you
- Leaving because enquiries leak, not because of admin
- A follow-up platform. No job management tool changes that number
- The trap
- Migrating platforms to fix a problem that was never in the platform
If the problem is upstream of the software
Missed call text back, quote follow-up and automated review requests, with unlimited users on every plan. Its calendars book appointments, but it does no dispatch, no technician scheduling and no job costing, so it sits alongside whichever job management tool you land on rather than replacing it.

Common questions
What is the best alternative to Housecall Pro?
Jobber, for most users. It does the same job at the same size, publishes a full price list from $29 to $699 a month, offers 14 days with no credit card, and charges $29 for an extra user against Housecall Pro’s $100 on Essentials. It is also the only direct rival you can compare on price without a sales call.
Is Jobber cheaper than Housecall Pro?
At one user yes, $29 against $59 billed annually. At five users they are identical at $149 a month. Above five, Jobber is much cheaper because extra seats are $29 against $100. Card processing can go the other way: Housecall Pro’s 2.59% card-present rate is lower than anything Jobber publishes.
How much does ServiceTitan cost?
Not published. Their pricing page lists three plans, Starter, Essentials and The Works, each with a Request Pricing button, and offers a demo rather than a trial. You cannot put it on a price-based shortlist without contacting them first.
Does FieldPulse publish pricing?
No. Their pricing page names three tiers, Essentials, Professional and Enterprise, states that pricing is seat-based and built around what your team needs with full-access and field-only seat types, and asks you to request pricing or call their team.
Should I switch from Housecall Pro?
It depends on the reason. Seat costs point clearly to Jobber. Billing or cancellation frustration is worth checking against the replacement’s own refund terms first, since Jobber’s annual plan is also non-refundable mid-year. If the reason is that the diary has gaps, no job management platform will change that, because they all start working after a customer says yes.
What is the best free alternative to Housecall Pro?
There is no free like-for-like. The closest is Roofr’s permanently free tier, which is roofing-specific and covers a job board, ten proposals and limited CRM. Everything else in this category is paid, though both Jobber and Housecall Pro offer 14 days with no credit card required.
