What is Systeme.io?

Systeme.io is an all-in-one marketing platform that puts sales funnels, email, courses, a blog and payments behind one login. It is free up to 2,000 contacts with no card and no expiry, then $17, $47 or $97 a month. It replaces roughly five separate subscriptions for solo creators. The nearest alternatives are ClickFunnels at $97 and Kajabi at $179.

Research-led reviewThe author has not used this product. Built from public sources. What this means

The author has not used this product. Everything here comes from six public sources: the maker's own site, its pricing and refund terms, its changelog, its support forum, counted complaints across recent public reviews, and a like-for-like comparison against the nearest alternatives. We never claim experience we do not have.

Which badge a page carries is enforced in the site build, not just in editing. A page cannot use first-hand language unless it has declared itself a real-use review, so the badge and the writing cannot drift apart. The full method

We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you.How this works

You pay exactly what you would pay going direct. The maker pays us a share of their margin, not a surcharge on you.

We are never paid for a positive verdict, no maker sees a review before it publishes, and we publish verdicts recommending against products we could earn from. Commission rates never influence which products we cover or how we rank them. Full disclosure

The short version

  • One tool covering what usually takes five, aimed at solo creators rather than agencies.
  • The free plan is the product’s real strategy, and it is permanent rather than a trial.
  • It makes money on upgrades, not on your sales. Transaction fees are 0%.
  • Broad rather than deep. Every module is adequate, none is the best in its category.

What it actually is

A French software company built a list-and-funnel tool for people selling digital products, and then kept adding the next thing those people had to buy elsewhere. That is the whole story, and it explains both the appeal and the limits.

Practically, it is one contact database with the pieces of a small online business attached to it. Someone lands on a page you built, joins your list, gets an automated sequence, buys a course through a checkout you did not have to configure, and gets access to that course inside the same platform. No integrations, no webhooks, no Zapier bill.

It is not a website builder with marketing bolted on, and it is not a CRM. It is closest to ClickFunnels in shape, and closest to nothing at all in price.

How it makes money

0%transaction fee on everything you sell through it, at every tier. The platform earns from upgrades, not from your revenue.systeme.io/pricing, checked 2 September 2026

This is worth stating plainly because the business model shapes the product. Systeme.io takes nothing when you make a sale. You pay Stripe or PayPal their processing fee and keep the rest, on the free plan as much as on the $97 one.

The money comes from people outgrowing the free tier. That is why the free plan is generous on the expensive things, unlimited email sends and unlimited storage, and tight on the cheap ones, three funnels and a single automation rule. It is a well designed funnel, which you would hope from a funnel company.

It is also why the free plan is genuinely safe to build on. There is no mechanism by which using it more costs you money, and what it includes is not a teaser version of the paid product.

What every plan includes
Included everywhereWhy it matters
Unlimited email sendsNo send limit and no per-email charge on any plan, free included. This is the headline difference against almost every rival.
Unlimited file storageNo cap on what you upload to your pages.
Unlimited studentsCourse platforms usually meter this. Systeme.io does not, at any tier.
0% transaction feesThrough Stripe or PayPal. You still pay the processor, but Systeme.io takes nothing on top.
Your own affiliate programRun and pay affiliates from inside the platform, on the free plan.
The full feature setNo module is locked behind a tier. Paying more raises limits, it never unlocks tools.

Look at it before you read any more about it

Ten minutes inside the account answers the only question that matters, which is whether the builder feels workable to you. Opinions on that vary more than on anything else here.

Who it is for

Who this genuinely suits
SituationVerdict
A solo creator selling a course or a digital productYes. This is exactly who it is built for, and the free plan may be all you need.
Someone with a list under 2,000 testing an offerYes, and pay nothing. The free plan is not a teaser.
A coach or consultant who wants one tool, not sixYes, if broad and adequate beats deep and specialist for you.
An agency running many client accountsOnly on Unlimited, which is the one tier with sub-accounts. Even then it is thin against purpose-built agency platforms.
Anyone whose business depends on a specific integrationCheck first. The integration list is short and feature requests are the usual answer.
A business that cannot tolerate a suspensionBe careful. Account blocks are the third most common complaint and there is no phone line.

The clean line is between running your own business and running other people's. Solo creators, coaches and course sellers are exactly the target, and for them the value is hard to argue with. Agencies are not, and the sub-accounts on the top tier are not the same thing as white labelling or reselling.

If you are managing client accounts and want to put your own brand on the platform, you want an agency platform instead, and you should expect to pay considerably more for it.

Two columns tell the story. Systeme.io is the only one you can start on without paying, and the only one with no published refund policy. Those are the same fact seen from two sides: the free plan means most people never need a refund, and the absence of a policy means anyone who pays early has no safety net.

On reputation it does well, 4.9 across 8,426 Trustpilot reviews, and Trustpilot's own note says the company has not been soliciting those. What the low-star ones repeat is worth reading before you commit money, and we counted them on the full review.

If you are comparing this against the best known name in the category, the plain explanation of what that one does is on what is ClickFunnels used for.

The paid alternative, for context

ClickFunnels does the same core job with a better builder and a bigger template library, at $97 a month. Useful to see both before deciding which end of the market you are in.

Common questions

What does Systeme.io do?

It runs the whole path from visitor to customer in one place: landing pages and sales funnels, email capture and automated sequences, online courses, a blog, a booking calendar, an affiliate program and checkout. One contact record sits behind all of it.

Is Systeme.io free?

Yes, permanently, up to 2,000 contacts. The free plan needs no card, does not expire, and includes every feature the paid plans have. Paid tiers at $17, $47 and $97 raise the limits rather than unlocking tools.

Is Systeme.io legit?

Yes. It is an established platform scoring 4.9 across more than 8,400 Trustpilot reviews, and Trustpilot notes the company has not been soliciting those reviews. The recurring criticisms are about refunds and account suspensions, not about legitimacy.

Who owns Systeme.io?

Systeme.io is a privately held French software company founded by Aurelien Amacker. It is not part of a larger group, which is unusual in this category and is one reason the pricing sits so far below the American alternatives.

Is Systeme.io better than ClickFunnels?

On raw capacity at the same $97, yes: unlimited contacts and emails against 10,000 contacts and 50,000 emails. On builder quality, template library and having a 30 day money-back guarantee, ClickFunnels wins. It depends which you are buying.

Can I use Systeme.io for my agency?

Only in a limited way. The $97 Unlimited plan adds sub-accounts, which lets you keep client work separate, but there is no white labelling and no way to resell it as your own software. Agencies wanting that need a different category of platform.
