The Systeme.io template library

Systeme.io includes funnel, landing page, email and course templates on every plan, free one included, at no extra cost. The library is materially smaller than ClickFunnels' and the designs are widely described as dated. For most people that matters less than expected, because a funnel converts on offer and copy rather than on how many layouts you had to choose from.

Research-led reviewThe author has not used this product. Built from public sources. What this means

The author has not used this product. Everything here comes from six public sources: the maker's own site, its pricing and refund terms, its changelog, its support forum, counted complaints across recent public reviews, and a like-for-like comparison against the nearest alternatives. We never claim experience we do not have.

Which badge a page carries is enforced in the site build, not just in editing. A page cannot use first-hand language unless it has declared itself a real-use review, so the badge and the writing cannot drift apart. The full method

You pay exactly what you would pay going direct. The maker pays us a share of their margin, not a surcharge on you.

We are never paid for a positive verdict, no maker sees a review before it publishes, and we publish verdicts recommending against products we could earn from. Commission rates never influence which products we cover or how we rank them. Full disclosure

The short version

  • Templates are included everywhere, with no premium tier and nothing to buy.
  • The library is smaller and plainer than ClickFunnels’. That is the real trade.
  • Template count is a vanity metric. Six good layouts beat two hundred you never open.
  • Most of the dated look comes from default fonts and spacing, which you can change.

What you actually get

Template types in the library
TypeWhat it covers
Funnel templatesComplete multi-step flows: squeeze page, sales page, order form, upsell, thank you.
Landing page templatesSingle pages for opt-ins, webinars, lead magnets and simple offers.
Website and blog templatesMulti-page site layouts and blog post designs.
Email templatesBroadcast and sequence layouts, plus plain-text styles that usually outperform them.
Course layoutsModule and lesson structures for the course module.
Store templatesProduct and checkout pages for physical and digital products.
There is no premium template store and nothing is locked to a paid tier. Whatever the library holds, the free plan can use all of it, which is not true of every rival.

The count is the wrong metric

Offer, then copydecide whether a funnel converts. Template choice is a distant third, and template quantity barely registers at all.Compiled from vendor documentation and public reviews, September 2026

Comparison articles love a template count because it is a number you can put in a table. It is close to meaningless. Nobody has ever browsed two hundred squeeze page layouts and picked the two hundredth. In practice you look at a handful, pick one that roughly fits, and then spend your real time on the headline and the offer.

What a bigger library genuinely buys is a better starting point for people who cannot design. That is a real advantage and it is where ClickFunnels is ahead, but it is an advantage of quality and polish rather than of quantity. Ten well-made layouts would beat a hundred mediocre ones.

If you are choosing between platforms on this basis, build the same page in both and compare how the finished thing looks. That is a twenty minute test and it will tell you more than any count. The rest of the comparison is on Systeme.io vs ClickFunnels.

Where they fall short

The recurring criticism in public reviews is not that there are too few templates. It is that they look older than the competition, and that the editor makes them fiddly to change. Both are fair.

The dated impression comes mostly from defaults rather than from structure: system fonts, generous but old-fashioned spacing, and stock imagery that has been in circulation for years. The underlying layouts are perfectly sound. Swap the typeface, tighten the spacing and replace the images and the same template stops looking like 2018.

The editor is the harder problem, and it is the honest reason to pay more elsewhere. If precise control over how a page looks is commercially important to you, you will find Systeme.io frustrating and no amount of template choice fixes that.

Judge the templates yourself in ten minutes

The whole library is available on the free plan. Opinions on the builder vary more than on anything else about this platform, which is a good reason to form your own.

Making them look less generic

Four changes do almost all the work, and none of them need design skill.

In order of visible difference per minute spent
ChangeWhy it works
1Replace the default typeface with one better oneTypography carries more of the "this looks modern" impression than layout does.
2Remove every stock photo you canGeneric stock imagery dates a page faster than anything else. Blank space beats a handshake photo.
3Cut the section count by a thirdTemplates ship padded. Shorter pages look more confident and convert no worse.
4Set one accent colour and use it only on buttonsRestraint reads as designed. Multiple accents read as a template.

Do those four things and the gap between a Systeme.io page and a ClickFunnels page narrows to something most visitors will never notice. It will not close entirely, and if closing it matters commercially then that is a legitimate reason to pay more. For most people selling a course or a service, it is not.

If the templates are what is holding you back

ClickFunnels has the largest and best maintained template library in this category, and it is the honest reason to pay more. Build one page in each and compare.

Common questions

Are Systeme.io templates free?

Yes, all of them, on every plan including the free one. There is no premium template store, nothing is locked behind a paid tier, and there is nothing extra to buy.

How many templates does Systeme.io have?

Fewer than ClickFunnels, across funnels, landing pages, websites, emails, courses and stores. The exact count moves as templates are added, and it is a poor basis for choosing a platform since you will realistically use one or two.

Can I import a template into Systeme.io?

Not from another platform. Funnels have no portable format, so a ClickFunnels or Kajabi template cannot be brought across. You can duplicate and share funnels between Systeme.io accounts.

Are Systeme.io templates mobile responsive?

Yes, and the editor has a mobile view for adjusting how each section behaves on a phone. Check every page in that view before publishing, since automatic reflow is rarely perfect on longer sales pages.

Why do Systeme.io templates look dated?

Mostly defaults rather than structure: system fonts, wide old-fashioned spacing and long-circulating stock imagery. Changing the typeface, removing stock photos and tightening the spacing fixes most of the impression.

Can I use my own HTML or CSS?

Custom code can be added to pages, but the editor is not built for developers and layout control is limited compared with a code-first builder. If precise design control matters commercially, this is the platform’s weakest area.
