Head to head

GoHighLevel vs HubSpot

These are not competitors. GoHighLevel is an agency platform at $97 to $497 a month with unlimited users; HubSpot Professional is $800 a month billed annually plus a mandatory one-time onboarding fee of $3,000. A first year on HubSpot Professional starts at $12,600 before extra seats. The same year on GoHighLevel Agency Pro is $4,970.

Research-led reviewThe author has not used this product. Built from public sources. What this means

The author has not used this product. Everything here comes from six public sources: the maker's own site, its pricing and refund terms, its changelog, its support forum, counted complaints across recent public reviews, and a like-for-like comparison against the nearest alternatives. We never claim experience we do not have.

Which badge a page carries is enforced in the site build, not just in editing. A page cannot use first-hand language unless it has declared itself a real-use review, so the badge and the writing cannot drift apart. The full method

We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you.How this works

You pay exactly what you would pay going direct. The maker pays us a share of their margin, not a surcharge on you.

We are never paid for a positive verdict, no maker sees a review before it publishes, and we publish verdicts recommending against products we could earn from. Commission rates never influence which products we cover or how we rank them. Full disclosure

Independent comparison. We are an affiliate of some platforms named here. We do not speak for HighLevel or HubSpot, and nothing on this page is an official statement by any of them. Figures come from each maker's own published pages on the date shown, and we correct them when they change.

The short version

  • HubSpot’s onboarding fee is mandatory and it is in their own words "required".
  • HubSpot charges per seat. GoHighLevel gives unlimited users on every plan.
  • HubSpot’s $7 Starter price is a new-customer promotion. The standing rate is $20.
  • HubSpot is the better CRM. That is not in dispute, and it is not usually the question.

The $3,000 nobody mentions

$3,000one-time onboarding on HubSpot Professional, described on their own pricing page as "required, one-time". Enterprise is $7,000.hubspot.com/pricing, checked 3 September 2026

HubSpot's own pricing page carries the sentence: "Cost shown does not include the required, one-time Professional Onboarding for a fee of $3,000." The word doing the work there is required. This is not a service you can decline in favour of figuring it out yourself.

Comparison articles almost universally omit it, which is how HubSpot Professional gets described as an $800 a month product. It is an $800 a month product with a $3,000 entry toll, and in year one that is the difference between $9,600 and $12,600.

First year cost, at annual billing rates, seats beyond those included excluded
HubSpot tierPlan for a yearOnboardingFirst year
Starter, 3 seats$720$0$720
Professional$9,600$3,000$12,600
Enterprise$43,200$7,000$50,200
Set that against GoHighLevel, where the most expensive published plan is $4,970 a year with no onboarding fee and no per-seat charge. HubSpot Professional's first year is roughly two and a half times GoHighLevel's top tier, and Enterprise is more than ten times it.

One correction worth making, because it is the most repeated error in HubSpot comparisons. Starter is widely quoted at $7 per seat per month. That is new-customer promotional pricing, not the standing rate, advertised on HubSpot's own page as "Save up to 65% on Starter". The standing rate is $20 per seat per month.

Per seat, or not

This is the structural difference and it matters more than the headline numbers, because it decides how the cost behaves as you grow.

HubSpot Professional includes three core seats and charges from $45 a month for each additional one. A team of eight is therefore $800 plus five extra seats, roughly $1,025 a month, or $12,300 a year before onboarding. GoHighLevel gives unlimited users at every tier, so the same team costs exactly what one person costs.

Seats
HubSpot tierIncludedEach extra
Professional3 core seatsFrom $45 per month each
Enterprise5 core seatsFrom $75 per month each
For an agency this is close to decisive. Agencies add people, and they add clients who need logins. A platform that charges per seat turns growth into a cost, and a platform that does not, does not. It is also the reason HubSpot is not sold as an agency reselling tool: the economics do not work in that direction.

Where HubSpot wins

It would be easy to read the numbers above as a rout, and that would be the wrong conclusion. HubSpot is a materially better CRM, and the gap is not small.

Reporting is the clearest example. HubSpot's attribution, forecasting and custom reporting are what a sales director actually needs to run a team, and GoHighLevel's dashboards are a long way behind. Data model depth is the second: HubSpot handles companies, deals, line items, quotes and complex associations properly, where GoHighLevel's contact-and-pipeline model starts to strain.

The third is ecosystem. HubSpot runs a large integration marketplace and a certified partner network, and it is a mature product with a long track record. We have not counted HubSpot's public reviews the way we have the others on this site, so treat that as context rather than a measured finding. What we have counted is GoHighLevel's side: a steep learning curve is its largest complaint at 140 of 651 reviews and slow support is fourth at 52, set out on the full review. That is not a small consideration when the platform runs your clients' marketing.

The decision

The verdict

The reason this comparison gets written so often is that both call themselves a CRM. In practice they are sold to different buyers for different jobs, and the price gap is not evidence that one is overcharging. HubSpot is expensive because it is enterprise software with enterprise reporting. GoHighLevel is cheap because its business model is you reselling it, not you being the end customer.

Choose GoHighLevel if
You run marketing for other businesses, need white-labelled sub-accounts, and price per client decides your margin
Choose HubSpot if
You are one company with a sales team, and reporting and forecasting are what you are buying
The tell
Do you sell your clients access to the platform? If yes, HubSpot is the wrong shape entirely

If sub-accounts and price decide it

Thirty days on the Bootcamp offer is enough to test whether the CRM depth is sufficient for what you actually do, which is the only question this comparison really turns on.

If neither is the right size

Some people arriving at this comparison need neither an agency platform nor an enterprise CRM. If it is one business, a funnel and a mailing list, both of these are the wrong purchase and Systeme.io costs nothing to rule in or out.

Common questions

Is HubSpot more expensive than GoHighLevel?

Substantially. HubSpot Professional is $800 a month billed annually plus a mandatory one-time onboarding fee of $3,000, so a first year starts at $12,600. GoHighLevel’s most expensive published plan is $4,970 a year with no onboarding fee and unlimited users.

Does HubSpot really charge a mandatory onboarding fee?

Yes. HubSpot’s own pricing page states that the cost shown does not include the required, one-time Professional Onboarding for a fee of $3,000, with Enterprise onboarding at $7,000. The word required is theirs, and most comparison articles omit the fee entirely.

Is HubSpot Starter really $7 a month?

That is new-customer promotional pricing, advertised by HubSpot as saving up to 65% on Starter. The standing rate is $20 per seat per month, and quoting the promotion as the real price is the most common error in HubSpot comparisons.

Can I use HubSpot to manage client accounts like GoHighLevel?

Not in the same way. HubSpot has no white-labelled sub-account model you can resell at these prices, and its per-seat pricing works against agencies rather than for them. Client management under your own brand is what GoHighLevel is built for.

Is HubSpot a better CRM than GoHighLevel?

Yes, clearly, on reporting, attribution, forecasting and data model depth. Whether that is worth several times the price depends on whether you are running a sales team or reselling marketing services.

Does GoHighLevel charge per user?

No. Every GoHighLevel plan includes unlimited users, so a team of eight costs the same as a team of one. HubSpot Professional includes three core seats and charges from $45 a month for each additional seat.
