Courses and memberships in GoHighLevel

Courses and communities are included on every plan, including Starter at $97, with no published cap on courses or students and a 4GB limit per video. That makes it the cheapest way in this category to host a course. What you give up is the student experience, which is where dedicated platforms still earn their higher prices.

Research-led reviewThe author has not used this product. Built from public sources. What this means

The author has not used this product. Everything here comes from six public sources: the maker's own site, its pricing and refund terms, its changelog, its support forum, counted complaints across recent public reviews, and a like-for-like comparison against the nearest alternatives. We never claim experience we do not have.

Which badge a page carries is enforced in the site build, not just in editing. A page cannot use first-hand language unless it has declared itself a real-use review, so the badge and the writing cannot drift apart. The full method

We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you.How this works

You pay exactly what you would pay going direct. The maker pays us a share of their margin, not a surcharge on you.

We are never paid for a positive verdict, no maker sees a review before it publishes, and we publish verdicts recommending against products we could earn from. Commission rates never influence which products we cover or how we rank them. Full disclosure

Independent comparison. We are an affiliate of some platforms named here. We do not speak for HighLevel, Kajabi or Teachable, and nothing on this page is an official statement by any of them. Figures come from each maker's own published pages on the date shown, and we correct them when they change.

The short version

  • No extra cost and no separate tier. If you pay for GoHighLevel at all, you have this.
  • Video hosting is included, capped at 4GB per file.
  • Access is granted by offer or by workflow, and the workflow route is what makes it powerful.
  • The course player is functional rather than polished. That gap is the whole argument against it.

Detail
Included onEvery plan, including Starter at $97
Video size limit4GB per video
Drip schedulingBuilt in, per course
Granting accessBy offer, or by workflow, which is how most people automate it
CommunitiesSeparate product, bundled at every tier

The thing to sit with is the first row. Kajabi charges $179 a month for a platform whose main job is this. Teachable starts at $39 and takes 7.5% of your sales on its entry plan. GoHighLevel includes courses on a $97 plan that you are probably buying for the CRM anyway, which makes the marginal cost of adding a course to an existing account zero.

Video hosting being included matters more than it sounds. Self-hosting course video is the hidden cost of cheaper platforms, and a 4GB per file limit is generous enough that it only bites if you are uploading unedited multi-hour recordings.

The limits

4GBper video is the only hard limit HighLevel publishes on courses. There is no published cap on courses, products, offers or students.HighLevel help centre, checked 3 September 2026

An absence of published limits is not the same as a guarantee, and it is worth being careful about the difference. What can be said accurately is that HighLevel documents no course, student or storage cap, and lists Courses among the features available on every tier. What cannot be said is that it is contractually unlimited, because no document says that either.

If you are planning something with thousands of students and a large video library, the honest advice is to ask support to confirm in writing rather than relying on the absence of a published number. That is the same advice we gave about API access on the API page, and for the same reason.

Granting access

Two routes in
RouteHow it worksBest for
By offerA purchase of a specific offer grants the linked course automaticallyA straightforward paid course with one price
By workflowA workflow action grants course access, triggered by anything a workflow can detectBundles, upsells, free trials, drip unlocks and anything conditional

The workflow route is the genuinely interesting one and it is the argument for hosting a course here rather than somewhere better looking. Because course access is a workflow action, it can be triggered by anything the CRM knows: a tag, a pipeline stage, an appointment attended, a form submitted, a payment on an unrelated product.

That means things which are awkward elsewhere become trivial. Give course access when a client signs a contract. Revoke it when a subscription fails. Unlock module three when someone books a call. On a dedicated course platform most of these need a Zapier bridge and a separate CRM. Here they are two clicks inside a workflow you already have.

Student experienceFunctional. Nobody praises itThe best in the category
Automation around the courseFull CRM, workflows, pipelinesGood, but a smaller toolbox
Transaction feesNone on course sales0.5% to 2% on your own Stripe
If the course IS the businessAdequateWorth the money

The pattern is consistent: GoHighLevel wins on cost and on everything surrounding the course, Kajabi wins on the course itself. Which matters depends entirely on whether the course is your product or an addition to it.

If you sell courses for a living, students judge you by the player, the progress tracking and how the whole thing feels, and $179 a month buys a materially better version of that. If the course is onboarding for a service business, a bonus for clients, or a lead magnet, nobody is comparing it to anything and the polish is worth nothing.

We compare the dedicated platforms properly on the Kajabi review and Teachable vs Kajabi.

Communities sit alongside courses, with paid groups and a learning tab, and the communities guide covers how they compare with Skool.

Courses are on every plan, including the $97 one

If you already want the CRM, the course module costs nothing extra and the trial is enough to judge whether the player is good enough for what you are selling.

Common questions

Are courses included in GoHighLevel?

Yes, on every plan including Starter at $97 a month. Courses and communities are both listed among the features available at every tier, so there is no separate purchase and no upgrade required.

How many courses can I create in GoHighLevel?

HighLevel publishes no cap on courses, products, offers or students. The only documented limit is 4GB per video file. Absence of a published cap is not a contractual guarantee, so confirm with support in writing if you are planning something very large.

Is GoHighLevel good for selling online courses?

It is good value and adequate quality. If the course is your main product, Kajabi’s student experience is materially better and worth its $179 a month. If the course supports a service business or is onboarding for clients, GoHighLevel is more than good enough and costs nothing extra.

Can I automate course access in GoHighLevel?

Yes, and it is the strongest reason to host a course here. Access can be granted by a workflow action, so anything the CRM can detect can unlock a course: a tag, a pipeline stage, an appointment attended, a payment on a different product.

Does GoHighLevel charge transaction fees on course sales?

No platform fee on course sales, unlike Kajabi which charges 0.5% to 2% if you use your own Stripe, or Teachable at 7.5% on its entry plan. You still pay your card processor its own rate.

What is the video size limit for GoHighLevel courses?

4GB per video file. Video hosting is included rather than requiring a separate service, which is a real saving compared with platforms that expect you to host video elsewhere.
